Some ‘added’ posts

I have added another blog which will serve as my business blog and this one will soon become my personal blog so don’t freak out when you see that the header graphic has changed. These updates will be coming soon but not until I have some of my other weekend chores and activities out of the way.

I added some posts from another blog I have on blogger. Although I followed the directions (I think), adding the posts didn’t really turn out the way I thought it would.

Guess what? I have the added posts corrected and added to this blog just as they were originally on blogger. WordPress is such a cool application and has a number of features not available on blogger.

Some of the posts on this blog were ones created during my training on WordPress thru Lynda.com online video training. If you haven’t tried out her site but want to learn more or upgrade your computer skills, Lynda.com is the perfect place to start. Anyway, I will soon replace, update or remove these posts.

The more recent posts are centered around my personal activities, observations and lifestyle. My interests are art, calligraphy, blogging, Internet research, reading and learning about new subjects.

What are your interests? How do you like to spend your time?

And I thought I was finished!

I took some much needed time for R&R. My week of vacation started off rather poorly with the loss of my rescue kitty. Apparently, she went into renal failure on Sunday evening and by the time I got her to the vet, there was nothing to do except say goodbye. I let her go with a very heavy heart and then came back home and cleaned out her things. My other kitty is now getting used to her absence and is being a good companion. On Sunday morning around 8:15, I received an email from the main instructor of the online training I’ve been taking now for over a year and a half stating that I still had the equivalent of one full class missing in items I had not completed to receive the certifications and college credit for all that hard work. I was stunned! I had gone to the school’s student access site day after day after day looking for my final grades and had found nothing for an entire week, then this notice. After a reply and checking, I waited to hear back from the instructor. She replied with the missing information I would need to comply with the requirements in order to fulfill the program. She gave me until Aug. 1 to complete these requirements. I have recovered from the shock and am even making progress towards completion. This time, I am hopeful I will actually be finished. The guidelines I now am following give me a better and clearer path toward the finish line than the ones I had been following. The finish line still looks a long way off but, with hard work and focus, I will be able to reach it. And you can be sure that I look forward to finishing this program so I can get on with my life again. This episode just points out to me that life happens as we plan it! And the plans always seem to pale in comparison to the real thing. The better our guidelines are, the easier it is to reach the goal. Mine had become a bit fuzzy and had lost definition. I am thankful for a set of clear guidelines pointing toward the finish. This applies to my entire life of which this program is only a small part. My wish for you, dear reader, is that all your guidelines will have clarity and give you precisely the direction you need when you start feeling lost. Blessings

Night Terrors Visit Again

Last night we had passing cold fronts and a developing squall line passing through. This, coupled with too much excitement about why a particular training site refused me access led to a restless and almost sleepless night. First problem was my fascination with the BossMan and his inevitable scheming to ‘beat the system’. This guy really believes in the system and also believes he can ‘beat it’. What a champ, huh? Gotta give it to ‘im, though. He keeps proving to himself over and over that he can beat the system by ignoring the rules or feigning ignorance of said rules. All it really does is give his employees night terrors and dark fantasies of how to beat the system beater! I made it to work and have set an appointment with the good doc to find a magic pill to mask the night terrors so I can also ignore the rules and the rule buster. Ah, for a bit of ignorant bliss that leads to a full and restful night’s sleep. Stay well. Warm is not a problem today.
